Delete your Ilk account

This page explains how to delete your account in Ilk, the app by Kovio GmbH, and which data we delete.

Delete your account in the app

1. Open Ilk and sign in.
2. Open the Profile tab.
3. Tap Settings & Privacy.
4. In the Legal section, tap Delete account.
5. Tap Delete permanently.

The deletion takes effect immediately. You cannot undo it.

Delete your account without the app

If you no longer have the app, send an email to support@ilkapp.com with the subject "Delete my Ilk account". Send it from the email address of your Ilk account, so that we can confirm that the account is yours. If you cannot use that address, tell us, and we will ask for other proof. We delete the account within 30 days and send you a confirmation.

Data that we delete

We delete this data immediately:

• your email address, your password and your sign-in sessions;
• your username, avatar, bio, gender, interests and consents;
• your position, your map cell and all location history;
• your map-cell ownership, contributions, cell names and cell messages;
• your push tokens, notification settings, blocks and reports;
• the AI conversation summaries and search results of your conversations;
• your feedback about AI companions.

Data that we keep

• Messages in your conversations: the messages that you sent and received stay readable for your chat partners, because they are also part of their conversations. Your name, avatar and profile are removed, and the conversation shows you as "Deleted Account". We keep these messages with no fixed end date. If you want us to delete specific messages, write to support@ilkapp.com.
• Backups: deleted data can remain in our database backups until these backups are replaced (normally after 7 days).
• Records of sent notifications: technical records without message content, deleted after 30 days.

The Privacy Policy describes all data that we process and how long we keep it.
